From 2026, Edinburgh College will partner with SRA Sports Therapy to expand and strengthen our Basketball Academy for both Primary and Secondary students. This partnership brings expert knowledge in athlete development, sports science, and injury prevention to support every student on their journey — whether they dream of professional play or simply want to grow in confidence and skill.

Our Foundations Basketball Program is the perfect introduction to basketball for Prep, Year 1 and Year 2 students. This is our most beginner-friendly program, designed to help young athletes have fun, build confidence, self control, social skills, emotional awareness and learn the basics of the game in a safe and rewarding environment.
Sessions focus on:
Fundamental movement skills (running, jumping, balance & coordination)
Basic basketball skills (dribbling, passing, shooting & catching)
Learning through games, activities and age-appropriate drills
Developing confidence, teamwork and a love for sport
The Foundations Program sets the platform for long-term development and prepares athletes to progress into our Skill Refinement Program.
Program Details: 8 x 45 min sessions

Our Skill Refinement Basketball Program is the next step for Year 3 and 4 students who are ready to build upon the basics, learn problem solving and the art of teamwork through the game of basketball..
This program focuses on:
Refining basic basketball skills such as dribbling, passing, shooting and footwork
Introducing decision-making and game awareness in a fun, age-appropriate way
Improving coordination, balance and movement efficiency
Learning how to train with intent while still enjoying the game
The Skill Refinement Program helps bridge the gap between beginner basketball and more competitive pathways, preparing athletes for our Junior Basketball Academy Program.
Program Details: 8 x 45 min sessions

Session Times: Wed 4.45pm - 5.30pm
Program Cost (Per Term): $150
Our Junior Basketball Academy is designed for Year 5–7 students who are ready to take the next step in their basketball development after completing our Skill Refinement Program.
This program places a stronger emphasis on:
Advanced skill development (shooting, ball handling under pressure, passing on the move)
Game understanding, spacing, and decision-making
Introducing team concepts such as offense, defense and transition play
Building athletic foundations including agility, coordination and movement efficiency
The Junior Basketball Academy prepares athletes for representative pathways, state level competition and our Edinburgh College Basketball Academy Program.
Program Details: 8 x 60 min sessions

Session Times: Thur 4pm - 5pm

These sessions provide targeted, high-quality skill work that complements Academy training, with an emphasis on:
Refining basic and advanced basketball skills
Increasing shot volume and skill repetition
Developing confidence and consistency under game-like conditions
Applying skills through small-sided and decision-based drills

The Edinburgh College Basketball Academy Team Sessions are designed to develop athletes within a structured, game-realistic team environment, with a strong emphasis on understanding how to play the game effectively as part of a team.
These sessions focus on:
Spacing and structure, teaching athletes where to move, when to move and how to create advantages
Team concepts on offense and defense, including ball movement, screening, help principles and transition play
Advantage play and small-sided games to develop decision-making, communication and teamwork
Game simulations that replicate competition demands and prepare athletes for school and representative games

Our Holiday Basketball Skills Sessions provide athletes with the opportunity to stay sharp, build confidence, and continue developing their game during the school holiday period.
These sessions are designed to be:
High-energy and engaging
Skill-focused with plenty of ball touches and repetitions
Suitable for athletes looking to improve outside of regular school and club training
Sessions will focus on:
Shooting and finishing fundamentals
Ball handling and footwork
Decision-making through game-based drills
Competitive play and small-sided games

The AM Elite Hoops Academy Program is an external basketball skills development program delivered by elite skills trainer Avi Meyerson, operating out of the Edinburgh College Basketball Stadium.
This program is an optional extra for motivated athletes who are looking to gain a competitive edge outside of school hours and take greater ownership of their individual development.
Sessions focus on:
High-level skill refinement and game-specific scoring options
Advanced ball handling, footwork and finishing techniques
Training under pressure with game-realistic intensity
Building confidence, creativity and competitiveness
By registering for and participating in any basketball program delivered or overseen by SRA Sports Therapy, Edinburgh College, or affiliated external providers, the participant and/or parent/guardian agrees to the following Terms & Conditions.
All programs are designed to be age-appropriate and delivered in a safe, structured environment.
Participants are expected to follow coach instructions, program rules, and behaviour expectations at all times.
Coaches reserve the right to modify activities to suit individual ability levels, group size, safety, or facility constraints.
The parent/guardian confirms that the participant is physically and medically fit to take part in basketball activities.
Any pre-existing injuries, medical conditions, allergies, or health concerns must be disclosed prior to program commencement.
SRA Sports Therapy and its representatives are not responsible for injuries arising from undisclosed medical conditions or the program.
Basketball and physical activity involve inherent risks, including but not limited to muscle soreness, sprains, strains, collisions, and accidental injury.
By enrolling, the participant and/or parent/guardian acknowledges and accepts these risks.
Participation is voluntary and undertaken at the participant’s own risk.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, the participant and/or parent/guardian agrees to release, indemnify and hold harmless:

External program providers (where applicable)
from any claims, demands, actions, or liability arising from participation in the program, except where caused by proven negligence.
Program fees must be paid in full prior to commencement unless otherwise agreed.
Fees are non-refundable once the program has commenced.
Missed sessions due to illness, injury, holidays or personal reasons are not refundable.
Make-up sessions may be offered at the discretion of program management but are not guaranteed.
SRA Sports Therapy reserves the right to alter session times, coaches, groupings or venues if required.
Programs may be cancelled or postponed due to insufficient numbers, facility issues, or unforeseen circumstances.
In the event of program cancellation by the provider, appropriate credit or refund options will be communicated.
Participants are expected to demonstrate respectful behaviour toward coaches, staff, teammates and facilities.
Disruptive, unsafe or inappropriate behaviour may result in removal from a session or the program without refund.
Parents/guardians are expected to support a positive and respectful environment.
From time to time, photos or videos may be taken for coaching, educational or promotional purposes.
By enrolling, the parent/guardian consents to the use of such media unless written notice is provided prior to program commencement.
Some programs may be delivered by external coaches or providers operating independently of Edinburgh College and SRA Sports Therapy.
These programs are optional and conducted outside of standard school hours.
Responsibility for delivery, insurance and programming rests with the external provider unless otherwise stated.
By submitting registration or participating in the program, the parent/guardian confirms they have:
